The deception method!!

Have you gone through the amount of social media recently, it is flooded with companies trying to get your attention. Well in that case, all we do is ignore them. I would say why won't we, ignore or skip the advertising, it's like that annoying person around us who doesn't shut up. But, can't stop hanging out with that person because, we might feel bad for the person. It's not the same for advertisers. Its kind of weird when you're that person. Yes, if you are pushing your product like that then you are that annoying friend. Don't be afraid or offended by that, lately people are getting offended by simply anything. It's not that, but you cannot push your product more efficiently. Its so funny, when people invest millions in a 50 second advert and in the end, all they get is a skip or a close. While the advert is online, so what is the alternative for this. Well, if you see it long enough we don't need heavy advertising and partially segmentation or featured content, which is becoming a big thing, also in film product placement. These will give you a better perspective of how to spend a-lot in less time. Still it's an art!! I personally feel a penny well spent is a penny worth invested. There is a small way to minimize the wastage. If we break down the recent market, we observe that everything is going interactive even your phone can have a conversation with you about your own interests. That's the power we have. But as the organizations are trying to automate the interaction by developing an AI (Artificial intelligence) which costs a bomb. There is a loop hole in this system, which gives flexibility and emotional understanding or a pink slip. It's kinda upsetting to talk to a robot voice which sounds like a girl (mostly), who just wants you to press 1 for now. Even in social networks all they reply you is to mail the information on an email address and tokens are issued for reference and yes the complaint is being processed, please wait...

Twitter has changed this with actual person responding to the complaint. Which is now making the social media a place where people post their bad experience about something or some products which gives bad impression of that product or brand. In response, the brand tried to clean up the mess or at least show that they are doing something about it. Social media is now flooding with outraged users trying to point out the wrong doing of any brand. This, at large impacted the social media. Now, people complaining and whining, fill the pages with their uneducated and silly comments. There was a complaint floating on social media about a brand of smart phone not working after the person brought it. Sounds legit right? But when the person was asked to charge the phone and then try to start the phone. VoilĂ  the phone sprung to life. We can find such people running around us in society. It can be anyone. Please beware the virus may catch anyone. Jokes apart, this makes the genuine complaint untrustworthy. Which is why we need more promoters than the responders. Imagine, if we are connected to a person via social media who is always posting pictures and videos of some company, if he gives you advice to buy from that company you would never entertain that person or take him seriously. Damn, that closes every door you had thought of, Right? So now, what is the alternative I mentioned above.

In our lives, we have referred or promoted at-least one product that we have really liked. What if, you are paid to do that, but not really quite good. That would mean you won't oversell that product to anyone, but you will always refer it. In the matter of investment you can have half a million promoters in a million dollars. I know you won't believe that and you will question the integrity of the idea even question the feasibility of the idea. I'm not proposing to ask people to promote your product. It's inappropriate and unyielding. Let's just say don't handout money for reference that easily. Like we hire advertising agencies to advertise the product. We should hire successful social media celebrity who will in some cases have our products referred. People hire these social media celebrity to handle their accounts in turn they end up spending on social media advertising. Which by the way keeps on increasing. We can handle social networks ourselves while we have specialized content designed for product placement. For example when a Twitter celebrity tweets"While this whether is so good, I love it when my #ramu-kaka-ki-chai brings me to this beautiful mood!! #betterthanstarbucks". This was a lame one but, I'm sure the tweets can be more creative and subtle by those celebrities.

My point is if you run towards people they scatter, but if they're going somewhere and your brand makes a difference they'll love it, think like won't you love it. We were talking about sponsored content in videos and movies which feels cooked up, we are just warming up the content and re-serving the perspective customers which makes them bored. Don't make them bored keep them coming up to you keep them entertained, engaged that's the difference we forget and send them an SMS about the discounts which gets annoying after awhile.

After a while, the ever changing advertising will resort to more recent technology like AR (Augmented Reality) with the help featured content will interact with people which will serve the purpose of product awareness and engagement. With this technology finally getting traction, thanks to the beloved Pokemon Go, people will now have the holy trinity of advertising i.e. Awareness, Interaction & Engagement.

Hope you liked my idea or atleast give it a thought its a win for me.

Please share this post so all those who agree or even who would like to enlighten me with their opinions. Frankly, would love to know different perspectives.

Thanks for not getting distracted
